Managing director Ian Milne says Town’s accounts for the 2013/14 season will be within Financial Fair Play (FFP) limits. Championship clubs are required to submit their accounts for the 2013/14 season to the authorities on December 2nd.
The FFP rules dictate that Championship clubs can have made a loss of only £3 million during 2013/14, with a further £5 million of shareholder investment also permitted.
"We’re going to be just in, which I think is important to say,” Milne told BBC Radio Suffolk's Life’s a Pitch.
"It’s not that we’re going to be well in because I’m sure fans will say we haven’t spent enough, but we’re going to be just in.”
Town have paid little in transfer fees in recent seasons - today’s starting XI cost only the £10,000 paid for Tyrone Mings - and Milne says the greatest expenditure for Championship clubs is player wages.
"If you talk to all the owners and chief executives of clubs, people think about large transfer fees, but that’s not really the issue.
"Once you’ve got them you’re spending between £5,000 and £15,000 [a week on players’ wages], and that is a lot of cash and that all goes into the equation.”
He added: "It’s done on a shoestring on transfer fees, but not on salaries. Whichever way you look at it, it’s money out the door.”
Meanwhile, he says Town are looking at utilising the Football League’s new beamback initiative, which will allow fans to watch some of the Blues' non-Saturday away matches at Portman Road.
"One good step the Football League have put together is the beambacks,” he said. "We are currently looking at a couple of opportunities because we think there is some interest in doing some games.”
