Warnock: Williams Has Future at Palace - Ipswich Town News

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has told Jonny Williams that there's no chance of him leaving Selhurst Park on a permanent basis.

The 20-year-old rejoined the Blues on a 93-day loan on Monday - although the Eagles can recall him at 24 hours' notice after 28 days - and scored a second debut goal in the 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday the following day.

"It was a great start for him on Tuesday and I texted him the morning after to say ‘well done’, but he came off injured afterwards,” Warnock told the Croydon Advertiser.

"There were other clubs in for him but I want him to play in the hole and that’s where he needs to be under Mick McCarthy.

"I’ve told Jonny there is no chance of him leaving Palace permanently and we can have him back after 28 days.”

The Wales international, who is expected to be fine for Sunday's game at Nottingham Forest despite suffering a minor groin problem at Hillsborough, is contracted to the Eagles until 2018 and Warnock says he sees him as a "very important player in the long term”.

Meanwhile, midfielder Luke Hyam appears to be a doubt ahead of the visit to the City Ground having tweeted: "I'm in such a bad mood when I'm injured."
