Hewitt Could Go Out On Loan - Ipswich Town News
Boss Mick McCarthy is weighing-up whether to send right-back Elliott Hewitt out on loan.
The 20-year-old started the season in the team, in a less familiar right midfield role, but his only involvement since the Reading match on August 16th was as a sub in last week’s 2-0 home victory over Rotherham.
"There’s a possibility of that,” McCarthy said. "We might use the two-week international break so it wouldn’t affect us for a couple of weeks [if he went], we might only miss him for a few games.
"I’m having a look at that. I spoke to his agent, he rang me and suggested that. I’m cool with that, if we can do something but we’ll see.”
The Wales U21 international, who we understand was interesting Colchester in the summer, spent much of last season on loan with League One Gillingham. The former Macclesfield man’s contract is up at the end of the season.
