Left-back Tyrone Mings is braced for a tough assignment at Nottingham Forest on Sunday. The 21-year-old left-back says the Blues, who are unbeaten in six, will go there looking for a win but wouldn't be too disappoited with a draw.
"They have made a good start but even though they are unbeaten they have also shown they can drop points," he said.
"It won’t be easy — everyone knows that — but I think we are full of confidence going up there.
"They will be confident themselves so I’m expecting a good game. We will go there looking to get all three points but if we came away with one I think we’d all be happy.
"We’d take that now and I think anyone would from an away game against Forest.
"There will be a big crowd but I don’t really notice the crowd when I’m playing.
"There are certain grounds you go to where the atmosphere is better than others — I’m sure Nottingham Forest will be a big one — but as soon as the game kicks off, and all the hysteria and hype in the build-up has gone, it’s just another game.”
The former Chippenham Town man loves the attacking aspect of playing at left-back: "It’s part and parcel of being a modern day full-back.
"We have wingers that play on the inside and the full-backs go on the outside and join in.
"Full-backs are becoming more and more a part of the attacks, whether it’s joining in late or setting up the attack, so in terms of my performance and how much I enjoy it, I think it’s a big part of my game and it’s getting bigger. I’m enjoying it a lot more.
"In training we do attacking drills and pattern of play altogether, which means working on the full-backs getting forward and stuff like that.
"Whether we’re using a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 system we look to start attacks from the full-backs going round the outside.
"I work a lot on improving my end product in training, as with a lot of other aspects of my game. It’s all about striving to improve in every area and overall.”
