Hewitt Makes Debut as U's Lose On Penalties - Ipswich Town News
On-loan right-back Elliott Hewitt made his Colchester debut as the U’s lost 4-2 on penalties to his former loan side Gillingham in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy following a 3-3 draw at the Weston Homes Community Stadium this evening.
The 20-year-old played the full 90 minutes and created his side’s third goal but didn't take a spotkick.
Hewitt joined Colchester on a month’s loan yesterday having found opportunities at Town limited in recent weeks.
Elsewhere, Frank Nouble (groin) and Freddie Veseli (broken rib) missed their loan clubs’ games in the same competition.
Meanwhile, Jack Marriott netted 10 minutes from time as his loan side Woking drew 2-2 with Stevenage in a training match at the Kingfield Stadium.
