Blackpool Sack Boss - Ipswich Town News
Town's weekend opponents Blackpool have sacked manager José Riga, the Belgian having only taken charge in the summer. The Blues are in action at Bloomfield Road on Saturday afternoon.
A terse statement on the Blackpool official website reads: "Blackpool Football Club can confirm that head coach José Riga has had his contract terminated with immediate effect. No further comment will be made at this stage.”
Blackpool are currently bottom of the Championship having taken only six points from their first 14 games.
Riga and chairman Karl Oyston rarely saw eye to eye during the former Charlton boss’s four-and-a-half month spell at Bloomfield Road. A row over transfer policy saw the Seasiders start the season with only 13 players.
Former Birmingham boss Lee Clark is reported to be in the frame to take over.
