McCarthy Hopeful on Williams But Parr a Doubt and Bru Out - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Mick McCarthy hopes to have Jonny Williams in his squad for Saturday’s game at Blackpool and Tyrone Mings is back after his one-match ban, but Kevin Bru has been ruled out of the trip to Bloomfield Road and Jonny Parr is a doubt.

Bru and Williams missed the home game with Huddersfield having knocks - and in the Mauritian international’s case a groin problem - but McCarthy says the loanee from Crystal Palace is back in training.

"He trained yesterday and he’s just done some strength work today and I’m hoping that he’ll be available,” he said. "He’ll train tomorrow and I’ll see.

"Tyrone’s back in but Kevin Bru’s injured. Jonny Parr’s been having treatment all week, he’s just got a bit of a niggle with his groin, so likewise I’ll wait and see about him tomorrow and that’s it I think. That’s the sick, lame and lazy for this week!”

He says Bru could be OK for the back to back home matches next week: "Kevin has got a chance for the Wolves and Watford games but not for Saturday. It would be nice to have everybody fit with these three games coming up.”

Meanwhile, Blackpool have confirmed the appointment of ex-Birmingham boss Lee Clark as their manager.
