Loan Trio Lose in FA Cup - Ipswich Town News

On-loan trio Frank Nouble, Jack Marriott and Omar Sowunmi were all on the losing side in the FA Cup first round proper this afternoon.

Nouble’s League One Coventry lost 2-1 at home to Vanarama Conference North Worcester City.

The Sky Blues were reduced to 10 men when their goalkeeper Lee Burge was sent off in the 40th minute. The Town striker made way for replacement glovesman Ryan Allsop.

Marriott played the full 90 minutes as his loan club Woking were beaten 3-0 by fellow Vanarama Premier side Wrexham.

First-year pro Sowunmi played the first 62 minutes as Braintree were thrashed 6-0 by Chesterfield at Cressing Road with former Blue Gary Roberts amongst the scorers.

Yesterday, Freddie Veseli wasn’t included in the Port Vale 18 which exited the Cup having lost 4-3 at home to the MK Dons.

In the Championship, Paul Taylor played the full 90 minutes and Anthony Wordsworth was an unused sub as Rotherham drew 0-0 at Sheffield Wednesday.

Elsewhere, in the Ryman League Premier Division, young midfielder Jack Willbye was in the Bury Town side which lost 2-0 at home to a Hampton and Richmond side which included recent Town trialist George Wells at left-back.
