Mings, Skuse and Hunt Should All Make Brentford Trip - Ipswich Town News

Boss Mick McCarthy expects Tyrone Mings, Cole Skuse and Noel Hunt to be fine to make the Boxing Day trip to Brentford but Luke Hyam will again miss out

Mings missed Saturday’s 2-0 home victory over Middlesbrough with an infected toe, Hunt was out having taken a kick to his leg, while Skuse was subbed during the second half.

"Tyrone will be fine, unless he gets any reaction, he’s trained today,” McCarthy said.

"He’s OK. Noel Hunt got a kick in training from the tough-tackling David McGoldrick and I’m hoping he’ll be OK.

"Skusey had to come off on Saturday, he’s had a scan and there’s no damage to his hamstring, it’s a bit of sciatica, I think. He just overstretched. I hope that he’ll be OK as well.”

He confirmed that Paul Anderson wasn’t suffering an injury when he was replaced late on against Boro, but says Luke Hyam is still sidelined.

"Luke won’t be fit, I’m not going to rush him because I think he’s been pushing himself to be fit and he keeps aggravating his achilles,” the Town boss added.

"As I said to him right at the very start, if they start grumbling, they grumble on for a long time, you’ve got to get them right.

"And, of course, everything goes through them, whether you’re driving, you’re walking , you just can’t help but use it. I don’t think he’ll be ready for Brentford.”
