Crystal Palace Await Replay Winners - Ipswich Town News

Town will face Premier League Crystal Palace at home in the fourth round of the FA Cup if they defeat Southampton in next week's third round replay at Portman Road.

The potential tie could see Jonny Williams make a swift return to Town, his second loan spell having recently come to an end.

Damien Delaney, Owen Garvan, Lewis Price and former Blues academy schoolboy Stuart O'Keefe are also members of the Eagles' squad. Palace thrashed non-league Dover Athletic 4-0 away in the third round.

Darren Ambrose, who scored Town's goal at Southampton on Sunday, is a former Palace player, as is Jonny Parr, while Stephen Hunt and Jay Tabb were both youth players with the Eagles.

The sides have only met in the FA Cup once before, back in the 1957/58 season when the Blues won a third round tie 1-0 at Selhurst Park with George McLuckie netting the goal.

Fourth round ties will be played over the weekend of Saturday 24th January.

If the Blues fail to beat the Saints then they will have no game that weekend with their scheduled Championship opponents Brighton already having progressed through to round four, where they face Arsenal, via a 2-0 away win at Brentford on Saturday.
