Town Advise Fans to Buy Southampton Tickets Online With 8,000 Sold Today - Ipswich Town News

Town are advising supporters wanting tickets for next Wednesday’s FA Cup third round replay against Southampton to buy them online at ITFC Direct with today's queue at Planet Blue being cut off at 4pm. The Blues have sold more than 8,000 tickets today and more than 13,000 in total.

A club statement on Twitter reads: "For the attention of supporters looking to buy tickets in person today, please be aware that the queue will cease at 4pm.

"This is due to the huge demand from supporters today. We strongly advise purchasing online, where there isn't a queue.”

Those still wishing to purchase their tickets in person can return to Planet Blue tomorrow.

Queues at Planet Blue have been lengthy all day with tickets currently on sale to Platinum, Gold and Silver members as well as season ticket holders - whose seats are reserved until 9am on Saturday - with general sale starting at 9am on Friday.

An overall sell-out seems unlikely as the Saints probably won't take up their full allocation for the match which falls between Premier League away trips to Manchester United and Newcastle.

Portman Road's last sell-out was the first leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final with Arsenal in January 2011.
