McCarthy Nominated for December Manager of the Month - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Mick McCarthy has been nominated for the Championship Manager of the Month award for December. Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe is also amongst the four nominees for the gong along with Slavisa Jokanovic of Watford and Middlesbrough's Aitor Karanka.

The Blues won four and drew one in the final month of the 2014, climbing to second in the Championship table.

Howe is likely to be the favourite with the table-topping Cherries having won all five of their league games, netting five goals against Cardiff and six at Blackpool. Their only defeat came in the Capital One Cup tie at home to Liverpool. The winner will be announced on Friday morning.

McCarthy, who was also nominated in November, previously won the September award - when Tyrone Mings was named the Player of the Month - to become the first Town boss to win Manager of the Month since Joe Royle in November 2004.

The current Town boss picked up the award three times with his previous clubs, once with Sunderland and twice with Wolves.
