Marriott Close to Colchester Switch - Ipswich Town News
TWTD understands that Town and Colchester are close to completing a deal which would see striker Jack Marriott join the U’s on loan.
Marriott, 20, would effectively be Colchester’s replacement for striker Freddie Sears, who moved to the Blues on Friday and made an impressive debut as a sub at Millwall on Saturday.
The Beverley-born striker is currently on loan at Vanarama Conference side Woking, where he has spent much of the last two seasons. That deal was due to run until April 25th.
Marriott, whose Town contract is up at the end of the season, spent a short spell with League One Gillingham last season and in League Two with Carlisle earlier this campaign.
