McCarthy: No Approaches for Bishop or Mings - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Mick McCarthy says the Blues have received no approaches for either Tyrone Mings or Teddy Bishop, despite continued speculation. Bishop, 18, was claimed to be the subject of an enquiry from Liverpool earlier in the week, while the Blues were reported to have rebuffed an offer from Newcastle for 21-year-old Mings.
"Until somebody asks there’s no point in talking about it, is there?” McCarthy said.
"I’ve had nothing. Everybody keeps telling me, everybody keeps asking me, saying that people are watching.
"We get the scout list, you know. They’re all here, they’re all watching them. But then they’ll get the scout list with us on watching the lower end of the leagues where we’re looking at players.
"We’re not getting shot of any of our players. We want to be in the mix for promotion at the end of the season.”
Meanwhile, McCarthy says striker Balint Bajner is weighing up his options with a number of clubs interested in signing the Hungarian on loan with Notts County his most likely destination.
"He’s available and there were a few people looking at him, trying to take him on loan,” McCarthy said. "We’ll just wait and see. We’ll see what he decides.”
