Four Day Trip for Town - Ipswich Town News

Next week's training camp in Cyprus will last four days. George Burley is taking the chance to take a break in the sun with no fixtures for three weeks.

Meanwhile some players have used their time off this week to take a holiday. Martijn Reuser has gone to the Costa Del Sol and thinks it isn't just the players who need a break: "I think the manager has done the right thing. It is a long, hard season and I expect he [George Burley] and Tony [Mowbray] could do with a rest, as well as the players. Lying under the sun gives the body a rest. It can take a lot out of you when you play two, or even three, times a week."

Although a break such as this is unusual in England it isn't so rare on the continent. Reuser thinks the rest and then the team trip to Cyprus will do the squad good: "Personally, I definitely think I will feel the benefit. It is unusual in England to have this amount of time off, but in Holland there is a two-week break in the middle of the season."
