Yallop's Boys Could Face U21s - Ipswich Town News
Frank Yallop’s Chicago Fire could face Town’s U21s in a friendly next month, TWTD understands.
As part of their pre-season programme, the MLS side will be at Norwich City’s Colney training ground between February 2nd and 10th and take on a Canaries XI in a friendly on Thursday 5th February. A game against the Blues’ second string at Playford Road is also being discussed on a date yet to be set.
The Fire will subsequently train in London and they play a QPR team in a friendly at their training ground on Thursday 12th February.
Former Blues full-back Yallop took over as boss of the Fire in October 2013 and last season they finished ninth in the Eastern Conference.
Yallop, 50, has previously been in charge of the Canadian national side, with whom he won 52 caps in his playing days, the LA Galaxy and has had two spells as boss of the San Jose Earthquakes.
