McCarthy Will Look at Loans - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Mick McCarthy has reiterated his intention to use the emergency loan provision during the remaining months of the season.
Yesterday, the final day of the January transfer window, passed without any moves in or out of the club, although with confirmation of the signing of out-of-contract Irish youngster Dylan Connolly understood to be close, with McCarthy happy with his existing squad.
"I said no one was leaving us so it was always going to be a quiet day,” McCarthy told the club site.
"With signing players, I’ve said many times, where do I get players that are better than what we have?
"We have done well with what we’ve got this season and I trust the players to carry that on. They are a great bunch.
"Bringing players in on loan is a possibility though. We can bring players in on emergency loans until the end of March and we can take them for up to 93 days which will take us up to the end of the season.”
Left-back Tyrone Mings was the subject of much media speculation during January, along with the likes of Teddy Bishop and Daryl Murphy.
Shortly after the window closed last night the 21-year-old tweeted: "Buzzing the window is now shut. Time to focus on our main objective - ITFC."
