Fans From Around the Globe at Supporters Day - Ipswich Town News

Town fans from across the globe will be at Saturday’s home game against Reading with the Supporters Club staging its sixth annual Supporters Day this weekend.

Amongst those making the trip will be around 100 fans from the Norwegian Branch, 10 from Italy, four from Northern Ireland and four from the North American Branch, two from the USA and two from Canada, with many of them staying on in Suffolk for the Birmingham game on Tuesday.

A number of events have been organised for the weekend, starting with a five-a-side football tournament at Goals this evening.

On Saturday there will be a pre-match social at the Dove Street Inn with Blues legends Terry Butcher and Mick Stockwell and managing director Ian Milne in attendance, while Radio Suffolk’s Life’s a Pitch and legend-in-residence Kevin Beattie will be broadcasting live.

After the game there’s the chance to meet some Legends in Legends. From around 5.15pm a number of ex-Town players including Bryan Hamilton, Allan Hunter and John Wark will take part in a question and answer session, while there will be the chance to get autographs or pose for photos with Blues heroes of the past.

All Town fans can access Legends Bar after the game, you do not need to have sat in the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand for the game. Legends will be open until 6.30pm.

Sunday plans for the overseas fans to watch some of the the younger academy teams in action against Norwich have now been cancelled with the games off, but some of the Norwegians are off to Bury for a tour of the Greene King Brewery and then a pub crawl back to Ipswich via pubs in Bury, Stowmarket and Needham. On Monday there will be a stadium tour.
