Championship Top Two Lose - Ipswich Town News
Saturday’s Championship results saw top two Derby and Middlesbrough both suffer defeats, while Bournemouth drew.
The top-of-the-table Rams (65 points) lost 2-0 at Fulham, while second-placed Boro (63) were beaten by the same scoreline at Sheffield Wednesday.
Watford (62) climbed to third after coming from behind to win 3-2 at Leeds, who Town face at Elland Road on Wednesday. The Cherries (60) are fourth having drawn 0-0 at home to Blackburn.
The Blues (also 60) are down to fifth, one place and one point ahead of tomorrow’s East Anglian derby opponents Norwich City (59).
Town are likely to go third in the Championship if they win at Carrow Road. The Blues have a significantly worse goal difference than everyone in the top six and it would take a record 6-0 derby victory to climb ahead of second-placed Middlesbrough.
Brentford (58) in seventh lost 1-0 at Birmingham, while eighth-placed Wolves (57) won 1-0 at Cardiff City.
