Maurel Deal Confirmed - Ipswich Town News
It has been confirmed that French loanee Patrice Maurel has joined the club on loan until the end of the season.
Maurel has been on trial at Portman Road for three weeks and was due to make an appearance for the reserves last week.
Whilst on trial Maurel was not allowed to play in any games and as it took longer than expected to organise his loan from his club Toulouse, he didn't play.
Maurel is 21 and is an attacking midfielder. He is not seen as an immediate first-teamer but as a player for the future.
Former Town man Tony Vaughan seems set to join Nottingham Forest. Vaughan had been on trial at Norwich but couldn't bring himself to actually join the Budgies or they couldn't afford him or something.
Town sold Vaughan for £1.35 million to Manchester City a couple of years back, but he looks likely to move to the City Ground for £450,000.
