Fryers Delighted to Have Joined Town Promotion Push - Ipswich Town News
New loan addition Zeki Fryers says he’s delighted to have joined the Blues’ promotion push. The Crystal Palace left-back signed on loan for the rest of the season yesterday.
"I’m delighted to be here and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead,” the 22-year-old told the club site.
"Ipswich is a massive club and the players are doing really well this season, looking to earn promotion to the Premier League.
"I played against them earlier this season for Rotherham [in the Blues' 2-0 defeat at the New York Stadium] and hopefully now I can do my best wearing the Ipswich shirt.
"I’ve had a good grounding as a youngster with Spurs and Manchester United and obviously I’m a Palace player now, so hopefully I can use those experiences to help Ipswich get to the top flight. That’s the aim anyway.”
Fryers could make his Blues debut in the home game against leaders Bournemouth on Good Friday with Tyrone Mings suspended for two matches after reaching 10 bookings and Jonny Parr having been playing in midfield prior to missing the 1-0 win at Watford with a minor knock.
