Peralta Doubt - Ipswich Town News
Sixto Peralta is a major doubt ahead of Saturday's return to Premiership action at home to Southampton. The Argentianian picked up a thigh strain in a Cyprus training session and isn't the only player currently on the sidelines.
As well as Peralta, Marcus Bent missed Saturday's match with a slight hamstring injury while Alun Armstrong was ruled out with a sore back. Manager George Burley felt had probably been caused by the travelling involved in the Cyprus trip.
Mark Venus was also missing as he has been told to rest in order to get over the injury to a muscle behind the knee.
Despite the injuries George Burley felt the trip was worthwhile: "It was ideal preparation. We have 12 Premiership matches left and we are in good shape. It was a good exercise for us and the match was just what we needed on an excellent pitch."
