New Deal for Stockwell - Ipswich Town News

Town legend Micky Stockwell is planning to sign a new contract at Colchester United. Stockwell joined Colchester from Town at the end of the Blues' promotion season and last year won the Us player of the Year award.

There had been rumours that Stockwell might retire at the end of the season, however he is keen to stay at Layer Road: "There's a good chance that I will sign for another season. The situation is that I'm having talks with the club. I want to play for Colchester United again next season, and there's really good prospect of that happening."

Stockwell has played 93 times for Colchester and has scored 21 goals. At Town he made 610 appearances, scoring 44 times.
