Murphy Only Town Player in Top 10 - Ipswich Town News

Striker Daryl Murphy was the only member of the Town squad to make the top 10 in this season’s Sky Bet Championship Player of the Year voting, the Blues 24-goal top scorer finishing second behind Middlesbrough’s on-loan Chelsea frontman Patrick Bamford.

Each Championship boss was asked to name their top five players in order with the scores then added up.

Murphy was short-listed for the gong alongside Bamford, who was announced as the winner at Sunday’s Football League Awards, and Watford’s Troy Deeney.

The Football League have now released the top 10, which also includes former Blues skipper Grant Leadbitter.
