Boost for Finidi - Ipswich Town News
New Nigeria manager Festus Onigbinde says that wingers will be an essential part of his thinking when his side line-up against England, Argentina and Sweden at the World Cup in the summer. This will come as a boost to Town man Finidi George.
The new manager took over just over a week ago and sees wing-play as the way forward for his team: "Nigerian football has always thrived on wing play. We have fast players who should move down the flanks and cross the ball for the forwards to score. It is a simple system that had worked for us in the past and we started having problems when we abandoned it. I am a strong believer of wing play."
Meanwhile Nigeria's sports minister Ishaya Mark Aku has revealed that their World Cup bid will cost them $9 million.
