Academy scholar Monty Patterson played the first 66 minutes as New Zealand’s U20s lost 2-0 to Qatar in the Five Nations Series of friendlies in Hamilton overnight.
The games are preparation ahead of the FIFA U20 World Cup which New Zealand are hosting later this month.
On Sunday, Patterson, 18, played the first half as the Junior All Whites lost 3-2 to Australia and on Thursday he played just over an hour in a 2-1 victory over Panama.
