Town Face Colchester - Ipswich Town News
Town will face Colchester United in a friendly at the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Tuesday 28th July (KO 7.45pm).
A visit to the North Essex club, who escaped relegation from League One on the final day of the season, has become a traditional pre-season fixture with the Blues winning last year’s game 3-0.
Town striker Freddie Sears is likely to be facing his old team-mates, while ex-Blues Tom Eastman and Byron Lawrence will probably be in the U’s ranks and manager Tony Humes is one of a number of ex-Town players and coaches on their staff.
