QPR Linked With ÂŁ20,000-a-Week Pratley - Ipswich Town News

QPR are reportedly interested in signing Bolton’s Darren Pratley, the out-of-contract midfielder having been linked with the Blues last week.

Rumours that the 30-year-old free agent was set to join Town began circulating on social media last Thursday with one source even erroneously claiming that the former Fulham, Brentford (loan) and Swansea man was imminently due at the club to undergo a medical.

However, according to a Bolton spokesman, the Trotters were still discussing a new deal with the former Fulham, Brentford and Fulham man.

Now GetWestLondon reports that Rangers are weighing up a move for Pratley as they return to the Championship following their relegation from the Premier League.

They also claim that Pratley is after a deal which matches his previous ÂŁ20,000-a-week contract at the Macron Stadium, a requirement which would certainly rule the Blues out of the running even if there was something in their rumoured interest. Similarly, Bolton are now unable to offer him those terms.

Meanwhile, Town trio Adam McDonnell, Shane McLoughlin and Cemal Ramadan could win caps this evening when the Republic of Ireland U18s face Luxembourg in the second of two away friendlies. All three started Tuesday’s first game which Ireland won 1-0.

Elsewhere, one-time Blues trialist Joe Ward, 19, has joined Brighton and Hove Albion’s development squad from Chelmsford City for an undisclosed fee. The striker or winger played a number of games for Town during pre-season ahead of the 2013/14 campaign but wasn’t offered a deal.
