Chesterfield Targeting Taylor - Ipswich Town News
League One Chesterfield are reported to be targeting former Blues striker Paul Taylor.
Taylor is a free agent having settled his contract with Town in January, although the Blues kept hold of his registration until the end of the season to allow the 27-year-old to move out on loan and he ended the season with Blackburn, where he made two starts and three sub appearances.
Now the Derbyshire Times reports that Taylor is on new Spireites manager Dean Saunders’s wish list, although the striker’s wage requirements - he was on £10,000 a week at Town - may be beyond them.
Meanwhile, Reading are reported to be keen to sign released Hull City defender Paul McShane, who was linked with the Blues at the weekend.
According to GetReading, Royals manager Steve Clarke travelled to Dublin earlier in the week to talk to the defender, who is currently with the Ireland squad.
Elsewhere, Fulham are said to be leading the chase for former Rotherham midfielder Ben Pringle, who was linked with Town last week. Charlton, Leeds and Bolton are also believed to be amongst those interested.
