Benefit for Nilis - Ipswich Town News
Luc Nilis, whose career was ended after a collision with Richard Wright at Portman Road last season, is to benefit from a mini-tournament at the beginning of next season. Nilis broke his leg in two places and was forced to retire.
Villa may take part depending on whether their Intertoto Cup plans get in the way. Nilis's other clubs, Racing Genk, PSV and Anderlecht, have all said they will take part.
The former Belgian international striker spent a week in Ipswich Hospital after receiving his injury and was visited by George Burley as well as other members of the Portman Road staff.
Nilis is now working for sports management company SEM after refusing a public relations job at PSV.
