Town Confirm Yorwerth Signing - Ipswich Town News

Town have confirmed that former Cardiff City central defender Josh Yorwerth will be joining the Blues on July 1st, as first revealed by TWTD in May. The 20-year-old has agreed a two-year deal at Portman Road, plus an option for a further season, having impressed while on trial towards the end of 2014/15.

Bridgend-born Yorwerth, a Wales U16, U19 and U21 international, was released by Cardiff in May having come through their youth system.

While on trial with the Blues he featured in the U21s games against Charlton, Bristol City - in which he scored - and Colchester.

Yorwerth, who is yet to make a senior appearance, will join up with the rest of the squad when they return to Playford Road for pre-season next week. He is likely to initially be viewed as a member of Mark Kennedy’s development squad.

Meanwhile, tickets to the pre-season friendly at Colchester United on Tuesday 28th July go on sale via Planet Blue and ITFC Direct from Thursday.
