Fraser Looking Forward to Challenge - Ipswich Town News

New loan signing Ryan Fraser says he’s looking forward to the challenge ahead of him with the Blues and the start of pre-season training on Monday. The 21-year-old Scot has joined Town on a season-long loan as part of the deal which has seen left-back Tyrone Mings move to his parent club Bournemouth.

"Eddie Howe spoke to me about the possibility of coming to Ipswich and whether I would be interested and I said I’d love to come here,” the Scottish U21 international told Ipswich Player HD.

"I then received a phone call from Mick McCarthy and we had a really good chat. We spoke for a little bit and he seemed a really good guy.

"He told me about the lads, told me about the town and the way he does things at Ipswich. That was all I needed to hear really and that’s me here now!

"I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead and getting stuck into pre-season training next week.

"Ipswich is a great club and they were unlucky to just fall short in the play-offs but with hard work and a bit of luck, I think we can have a good crack at it again.”

Fraser, fellow new addition Brett Pitman and the rest of the squad will be at Playford Road to start pre-season training on Monday. Arsenal youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles is also expected at the training ground with the paperwork on his season-long loan all but complete.

Very happy to have joined Ipswich town on season long loan and can't wait for the hard work to start. Thank you for the welcome messages!
