Town Could Receive £250,000 Boost - Ipswich Town News

Mick McCarthy’s transfer budget would be swelled by a further £250,000 if Town are successful in the final of Sky Bet’s Transfer Fund competition on Friday.

The Blues are one of 10 clubs in with a chance of winning the cash when the draw is made live on Sky Sports from 12.15pm.

The other clubs in the final are Derby, Peterborough, Carlisle, Cardiff, Rotherham, Tony Mowbray's Coventry, Terry Butcher’s Newport, Bolton and Southend.

Supporters linked their Football League club to their Sky Bet account and for each £1 bet they added one Transfer Fund Token to the draw.

A participating Sky Bet customer supporting each finalist was chosen at random with Town fan Spencer Todd potentially landing himself £5,000 in addition to the £250,000 going to the club.

In the first running of the competition in December, Nottingham Forest were the winners and brought in Todd Kane and Gary Gardner on loan with the cash.
