Trio Set to Stay Behind - Ipswich Town News

Strikers Daryl Murphy and David McGoldrick and defender Christophe Berra are not expected to join the rest of the squad for the trip to Germany this morning ahead of Friday’s friendly against Fortuna Düsseldorf (KO 6.30pm local time).

The trio are not yet ready for game action having only returned to training on Monday after being given an additional two weeks off with Murphy - who yesterday signed a new deal - and McGoldrick having been in action with Ireland and Berra with Scotland until mid-June.

Berra will miss Town's opening day of the season game at Brentford as he will be serving a one-match ban for his red card in the play-offs at the end of last season.

Meanwhile, former Blues keeper Scott Loach, 27, has joined hometown club Notts County, now in League Two, on a two-year deal having been released by Rotherham at the end of last season.
