Hunt Joins Southend - Ipswich Town News
League One Southend United have confirmed that released former Blues striker Noel Hunt has joined them on a one-year deal with an option for a second season.
Irish international Hunt, 32, wasn't offered new terms by Town at the end of 2014/15 but was training with the squad as recently as Thursday when he joined his former team-mates for the public session on the Portman Road pitch.
Hunt followed his brother Stephen - who is yet to find a club following his release in May - to Town initially on loan from Leeds in November 2014 and scored a dramatic debut winner having come on as a sub at Charlton.
After being released by the Whites, he re-signed for the Blues on a short-term deal in January and in total made three starts and nine sub appearances, scoring three goals.
Southend have already signed Anthony Wordsworth, who was also released by the Blues at the end of 2014/15.
