Fraser Signs New Cherries Deal - Ipswich Town News

Loanee winger Ryan Fraser has signed a new three-year deal with his parent club AFC Bournemouth.

The Scotland U21 international is with the Blues for the season but he remains very much in Cherries boss Eddie Howe’s plans and was offered the new terms at the time of his move to the Blues.

"We see his long-term future with us,” the Bournemouth manager told afcb.co.uk when Fraser joined Town.

"His loan is about developing him and making him a better player, because I felt if I couldn’t guarantee him a starting spot then I needed to get him games.

"Hopefully he’ll be able to get a consistent run with Ipswich and show everyone just how good he can be.”

Town boss Mick McCarthy says he wanted to sign the 21-year-old on a permanent basis.

"I asked Eddie about Ryan and whether we could sign him permanently after the loan,” he told the club site.

"He told me he wasn’t for sale and they’ve offered him a new three year-deal, which shows just how much they value him.

"But listen, I’m delighted with Ryan and that we’ve got him here for a year. He’s been top drawer since he arrived and he changed the game for us on Tuesday night.

"He’s a quality player and he’s fitted in here easily. I’m delighted to have him on board.”

Meanwhile, central defender Josh Yerwerth has been named in the Capital One Cup Team of the Round following his goalscoring debut against Stevenage.
