Naylor to Have Talks - Ipswich Town News

Richard Naylor says he will sit down and discuss his future with George Burley in the summer. Yesterday the Leeds-born striker joined Barnsley on a two-month loan spell and says he could be keen to make a permanent move up north.

The copper-topped striker says: "I'm from Yorkshire and it's nice to be back up here again and close to my family and many of my friends.

"If I did leave Ipswich then a move back closer to home would certainly appeal to me. I will be moving in to a house while I am playing for Barnsley and we will see how things progress over the rest of the season."

The move to Barnsley will give Naylor an opportunity to play first team football, something he isn't getting at Portman Road and looked less likely at pervious loan club Millwall: "The loan deal at Barnsley takes me through to the summer and then I will sit down with the boss and reassess the situation.

"I have moved here to play regular first team football and am looking forward to the challenge. Hopefully I can do well at Barnsley and then make a decision on my future from there."

Naylor says that he will try to get to watch the Blues tomorrow when they face Leeds at Elland Road. He himself is likely to be in action tonight as Barnsley face Crewe at Gresty Road.
