Dozzell Wins Cap as England U17s Thrash San Marino - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder Andre Dozzell played the full 80 minutes as England’s U17s thrashed San Marino 8-0 in the opening game of their European Championship first round qualification group in Portugal this afternoon. Town keeper Nick Hayes was an unused sub.

The England youngsters next face Armenia on Thursday and then the hosts on Sunday.

The top two teams in the group progress through to the elite stage of qualifying in March. The 16-team European Championship finals are being staged in Azerbaijan in May.

First-year scholar Dozzell, 16, was winning his fourth U17 cap, while Hayes, also 16 and a first year, has previously won two.
