Defender Josh Yorwerth believes his 28-day loan spell with League Two Crawley Town will benefit him massively. The 20-year-old helped the Red Devils’ backline keep a clean sheet last night as they beat Terry Butcher’s Newport County 3-0 at Rodney Parade.
"The gaffer at Ipswich, Mick McCarthy. and me as well, think it’s right now that I get out and get some games. Especially coming off playing against Manchester United, I need to play some Football League games,” he told the official Crawley website.
"I think this will benefit me massively and if I keep doing well and performing and doing what the gaffer asks me hopefully it’ll all go well here for me.”
Reflecting on last week’s Capital One Cup tie at Old Trafford, the Wales U21 international added: "It was an absolute dream for me to play against [Wayne Rooney], I’m so thankful to the gaffer for giving me the opportunity to play there. I’ve supported the club all my life and it was just an absolute dream, it didn’t feel real.”
Yorwerth, who joined the Blues in the summer following a trial having been released by Cardiff City, is with Crawley until October 25th.
