Wright in England Squad - Ipswich Town News

Town keeper Richard Wright has been named in the full England squad as expected along with former team-mate Kieron Dyer.

Squad: Seaman (Arsenal), Martyn (Leeds), Wright (Ipswich), G Neville (Man Utd), P Neville (Man Utd), Barry (Aston Villa), Southgate (Aston Villa), Campbell(Tottenham), Keown (Arsenal), Ferdinand (West Ham), Beckham (Man Utd), Ince (Middlesbrough), Froggatt (Coventry), Wilcox (Leeds), Dyer (Newcastle), Gerrard (Liverpool), Parlour (Arsenal), Scholes (Man Utd), Sinclair (West Ham), Wise (Chelsea), Cole (Man Utd), Phillips (Sunderland), Heskey (Leicester), Shearer (Newcastle).

Town manager George Burley said that any permanent move for loanee defender Michael Clegg will have to wait until the summer.

Burley added that although he is not ruling out the possiblilty of Clegg joining Town full-time, things should be taken one step at a time.

Clegg has joined the squad today and is likely to make a debut at Crewe on Saturday. Clegg, who has been given the number 28 shirt, is rated at £750,000.

Newcastle United have moved quickly to say that former Town man Kieron Dyer is staying at St James' Park. Stories today suggested that Dyer is a £10 million target of Inter Milan.

Kieron himself added that he was going nowhere. When Dyer was transferred to Newcastle in the summer an undisclosed sell-on clause was included in the deal.
