Yorwerth and Crowe in Wales U21 Squad - Ipswich Town News

Blues duo Josh Yorwerth and Michael Crowe have been named in the Wales U21 squad for their Euro 2017 qualifier against Denmark in Aalborg on Friday 9th October.

The Welsh U21s are coached by former Blues midfielder Geraint Williams, who is pleased with the way his side's campaign is going having won their first two qualifiers.

"It’s been a good start and we’ve scored six goals in our first two qualifying games so far,” he said.

"[Denmark are] top seeds for a reason and are very organised. They were knocked out at the semi-final stage against the eventual winners [Sweden] in the finals tournament. It’s a great test for us and a great opportunity at the same time.”

Yorwerth, 20, who joined League Two Crawley on loan this week, has previously won two U21 caps, having previously played at U17 and U19 levels.

Keeper Crowe, 19, who has previously been capped in the U19s, is yet to win a cap at U21 level.

London-born, Norway-raised Crowe, whose father is English and mother Norwegian, qualifies for Wales through his grandmother.

Meanwhile, Blues left-back Jonas Knudsen has been left out of the final Denmark senior squad for their Euro 2016 qualifiers against Braga and France having been named in a 45-man provisional Denmark squad.
