Bru's Mauritius Lose World Cup Qualifier - Ipswich Town News

Kevin Bru played the full 90 minutes as Mauritius were beaten 5-2 at home by Kenya in the first leg of their 2018 World Cup round one qualifier this afternoon.

Having been 3-0 down by the 49th minute, Bru’s side fought back to 3-2 - the Town midfielder’s older brother Jonathan, their skipper, netting the second goal - before the Kenyans scored twice more late on.

Les Dodos face Kenya again in the second leg in Nairobi on Sunday. The aggregate winners of the tie will face Cape Verde in the second qualifying round.

If Mauritius are able to turn things around in the second leg they will progress from the first qualifying round for the first time.

The 26-year-old is one of a number of Town players currently away with their national squads.
