Oar's Australia Defeated in Jordan - Ipswich Town News
Town winger Tommy Oar started and won his 27th full Australia cap but was substituted at half-time as the Socceroos lost 2-0 to Jordan in Amman this afternoon.
Australia went behind when Hassan Abdel-Fattah scored from the penalty spot in the 47th minute and Hamza Al Dardour doubled the lead with six minutes remaining.
The result sees the Jordanians replace the Socceroos at the top of the group, Oar’s side having previously had a 100 per cent record after beating Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh and Tajikistan in their first three matches.
Their next qualifier is against Kyrgyzstan in Canberra in November.
