Emmanuel Up for Loan - Ipswich Town News
Right-back Josh Emmanuel says he would consider a spell out on loan if the right opportunity were to come along.
The 18-year-old Academy product broke into the first-team early in the season and has now made four starts and one sub appearance.
But with Jonny Parr fit again the Londoner, who signed a two-year contract with an option for a further season in August, currently seems less likely to be involved with the senior side and manager Mick McCarthy has suggested he could be sent out for a spell.
"Going out on loan is something I would certainly consider if it was right for me and it was right for the manager,” Emmanuel said in an interview with Saturday’s match programme.
"I know he’s spoken about possibly sending myself and a few of the young lads out on loan for some more competitive experience if and when the time is right and, if it’s the right club, then of course I would be more than happy if it’s best for everyone.
"I still live with my parents, so they are always there to keep an eye on me. That might change if I went out on loan and had to look after myself though, I’m not sure who would do my cooking and cleaning!”
Speaking about Emmanuel recently, McCarthy said: "He might not get a game now because I’ve got Chambo, I’ve got Jonny Parr, who is fit, so we may get him some football on a loan deal. But we’ll wait and see.”
Town currently have three players out on loan, Josh Yorwerth at Crawley, Matt Clarke at Portsmouth and Cameron Stewart at Doncaster.
