Bru: We Can Still Make Top Six - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Kevin Bru believes the Blues can get back into the top six despite the current run which has seen them win just one of their last nine league games.
Following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest, Town are 13th in the Championship table with 17 points, seven points behind Middlesbrough, Derby and Birmingham in fourth, fifth and sixth respectively, who all have 24.
Burnley in third and second-placed Hull are a point ahead of them with leaders Brighton on 29.
"We just need one win to get us going and it was so close against Nottingham,” Bru told the club site.
"Little things are going against us at the moment and it happened again on Saturday but we are confident things will turn around for us.
"There is a long way to go in the season and we have a good group here, some very talented players.
"I’m sure we can get back in the top six. If we can get that one win it will give us the momentum. It will give us the spark to push on.”
Mauritius international Bru has started the last two games having missed most of August and September with a hamstring injury.
Town are next in action against Cardiff City at Portman Road on Saturday with manager Mick McCarthy and his assistant Terry Connor having been at the Bluebirds' 0-0 home draw with Bristol City last night.
