Town Draw Liverpool Away in FA Youth Cup - Ipswich Town News
Town’s U18s have drawn Liverpool away in the third round of the FA Youth Cup.
Although Youth Cup ties are usually played at a club’s main stadium, Liverpool have previously played their matches at Chester’s Deva Stadium.
The tie will be played on a date yet to be set prior to Saturday 19th December.
Town, who won the competition in 1973, 1975 and 2005, previously faced the Reds at the fourth round stage in 2006 when they were beaten 2-1 with future Blues midfielder Paul Anderson netting one of the goals.
Last season the Blues reached the fourth round stage where they were beaten 3-1 away at Sunderland, having defeated Colchester United 4-2 on penalties following a 0-0 draw at the Weston Homes Community Stadium in round three.
Town's U18s are without a game this weekend as their match at Millwall - who face Woodbridge Town in the Youth Cup second round at the Den on Monday - has been postponed until Saturday 13th February.
