Nigeria Drop Finidi - Ipswich Town News
New Nigerian manager Adegboye Onigbinde has dropped Finidi George and a number of other senior Nigerian players from a 55-man squad for a pre-World Cup get together. Captain Sunday Oliseh and Victor Ikpeba are also left out of the mildly astonishing squad.
While Finidi and Oliseh are out in are Birmingham striker Dele Adebola, Palace's Ade Akinbiyi along with Crewe keeper Ademole Bankole, recently dropped from the First Division strugglers' side.
However, this isn't necessarily the end of Finidi's World Cup dream. Onigbinde says he may bring other players into the squad at a later date.
Nigeria play Paraguay at Loftus Road on March 26th, agame Finidi will miss.
The Town midfielder has said he will retire from international football after the World Cup.
