McGoldrick Still Sidelined - Ipswich Town News
Striker David McGoldrick has been ruled out of Saturday’s home game against Wolves with the groin problem which saw him miss the 5-2 win at Rotherham and the Republic of Ireland’s play-off games against Bosnia-Herzegovina.
"He’s still injured,” manager Mick McCarthy said. "He’s got a pretty nasty groin injury, it’s turned out to be that way from a couple of weeks back when he started to feel it.
"He’s not trained yet, he’s nowhere near for tomorrow and I would think next week will be a bit too soon for him as well.”
Aside from McGoldrick, McCarthy says he has no other injury concerns aside from those who have been out longer term, although they are all making progress.
"Luke Hyam’s playing for the U21s at QPR, which is great for him, for us and for the club, and all the rest reported back fit,” McCarthy added.
Luke Varney is a little bit behind Hyam in his progress after his ruptured achilles, while Teddy Bishop is still "not quite ready” to return after his shin splints and hamstring problems.
