Hogg on Reserve Debut - Ipswich Town News

Chris Hogg, who made his reserve debut as a second half sub last night, says his inclusion in the side came as a big surprise. The England U17 international was also celebrating his 17th birthday yesterday and was comfortable in defence as the reserves beat Watford.

The ex-York man said: "It was a shock when I found out I was in the side but it was brilliant. It is certainly a birthday I will remember.

"I tried not to think about it and not get nervous. But I got on at half-time and thankfully everything went OK.

"The skipper Justin Miller was playing alongside me and he helped me a lot and was talking to me all the time.

"It has been a big week for me with England and now the reserves. Hopefully I can keep getting into the reserve squads now."

Last week Hogg was included in the England U17 sides which beat Scotland and Lithuania. He will be incluced in the England U17 side travelling to Denmark for the U17 European Championships next month.

Hogg joined Town from York for a reported £150,000 in the summer.
