McCarthy and Murphy Nominated for Awards - Ipswich Town News
Town duo Mick McCarthy and Daryl Murphy have been nominated for the Sky Bet Championship Manager and Player of the Month awards for November.
McCarthy led the Blues to 10 points from a possible 12 during the month in which Town were unbeaten.
He is up against Derby’s Paul Clement, Middlesbrough’s Aitor Karanka and Brighton’s Chris Hughton for the gong.
McCarthy was previously shortlisted for the award for August and won it for the first and so far only time with the Blues in September last year when Tyrone Mings was named Player of the Month.
The Town boss picked up the award three times with his previous clubs, once with Sunderland and twice with Wolves.
Murphy ended his goal drought with a hat-trick - his first in 11 years - in the 5-2 win at Rotherham and went on to net six goals in three games. He previously won the award in December last year.
Also nominated are Brighton’s Solly March, Leeds United midfielder Alex Mowatt and Derby goalkeeper Scott Carson.
The winner of both awards will be announced on Friday at 6am.
